Description
DSIP Overview
DSIP is a small amphiphilic peptide made up of nine amino acids (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu). It has shown effects on circadian signaling and neuroendocrine regulation in experimental models.
It was first identified through its ability to modulate delta-wave patterns in experimental systems. Since then it has been studied for its influence on circadian rhythms, EEG patterns and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activity, with research also pointing to effects on GABAergic and serotonergic signaling, corticosterone and ACTH dynamics, and oxidative stress responses.
DSIP Research Focus
Published laboratory and preclinical work on DSIP has concentrated on the following areas:
- Circadian rhythm signaling
- Delta-wave and EEG patterns
- HPA axis activity
- GABAergic and serotonergic signaling
