Description
KPV Overview
KPV is a small tripeptide derived from the C-terminus of α-MSH. It retains signaling activity while lacking melanotropic effects, which separates it from full-length melanocortin peptides.
In epithelial and macrophage models, KPV is taken up through PepT1 and reaches intracellular compartments, where it modulates NF-κB signaling and reduces expression of cytokines including TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-8. Research models examine its effects on cytokine signaling, epithelial barrier dynamics through tight junction proteins, mucosal models and antimicrobial properties.
KPV Research Focus
Published laboratory and preclinical work on KPV has concentrated on the following areas:
- NF-κB signaling
- Cytokine expression (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8)
- Epithelial barrier and tight junction proteins
- Antimicrobial properties in laboratory settings
Available Formats
KPV is available in 10mg vials. Each strength can be ordered as a single vial or as a pack of 10 vials; choose your options above before adding to the cart.
Handling and Storage
Store and handle KPV according to the product label and your laboratory’s standard operating procedures. For background on the factors that affect stability, such as temperature, moisture, light and repeated freeze-thaw cycles, read our guide to peptide storage and stability.
